This site and the included tutorials were created by Sara Zoë Patterson within the context of an independent study for Rutgers University Master of Library and Information Science graduate program under the tutelage of Steve Garwood. In creating these tutorials, the intention was to provide students and faculty resources they could really use that would also produce an appropriate cost/benefit ratio for the user. In other words, "Save the time of the user." This is a contrast to many library's online tutorials, which teach what they wish the user to know, not what the users wish to learn. Another focus was to take advantage of the evolving array of "web2.0" tools that make content creation free and easy. In using these tools, I hoped to create a model for more k12 educators to follow the path of academic institutions in creating learning resources for learners thay may be accessed "just in time" and as needed to enhace and enrich learning. |
