About Us

EWB-USA
Engineers Without Borders (EWB) is an international non-profit organization with the mission of improving the quality of life in disadvantaged and developing communities around the world through engineering solutions. EWB partners with various international organizations and agencies in providing environmentally friendly solutions and sustainable projects, involving the help of professional and student engineers.
Most EWB projects are initiated by the communities themselves and includes the involvement and investment of community members. Projects include new construction and new technologies. However, they EWB projects also provide communities with managerial, governmental, and financial skills to maintain the welfare and stability of their region.
EWB originated with Dr. Bernard Amadei, Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder, the aid of university students from Boulder and a project in San Pablo, Belize in 2001. Since then the organization has bloomed to include over 103 Student Chapters and 35 Professional Chapters.

EWB-Rutgers
Rutgers Engineers Without Borders was founded by two university students, Dorothy Morallos and Kevin Tevis, in 2005. Since its first inception, RU EWB, has attracted over 60 student member and continues to grow today.
RU EWB maintains its faithfulness to the EWB mission and hopes to contribute in providing such societal benefits worldwide.
