Second General Meeting, February 27, 2012
Hey DEI members!
Please remember our second general meeting of the semester will be this Monday, February 27th, from 8-9 pm in Busch Campus Center, Center Hall (usual location.) I am very happy to announce we will be having a guest speaker from Kaplan doing a presentation on GRE Test Strategies and how this relates to grad school admissions and applications! We will be going over GRE Do's and Don'ts as well as other useful information - and from a personal point of view - the more help you have with the GRE, the better.
If you are taking the GRE or planning on going to grad school - this is the place to be! And if you're not going to grad school or are thinking about pursuing other forms of higher education, I am sure the admissions information and testing tips in general are applicable in all areas! Also there will be plenty of time to ask questions.
And as always - Free Pizza!!!
Also: there are more tutoring opportunities available for members in the following subjects:
-Chemistry of Life
-PreCalculus
Please e-mail our community service chair Rosemarie Dizon at rosemdiz@eden.rutgers.edu if you are interested - remember you get 2 points for tutoring!
Have an awesome weekend and hope to see you all on Monday! Please e-mail me with any questions/comments/concerns!

Also, each member that volunteers for tutoring will receive 2 points toward their active membership for the semester.
If you are interested please see below, or if you have any questions please contact our DEI Community Service/Fundraising Chair and RU for Troops Representative Rosemarie Dizon at rosemdiz@eden.rutgers.edu!

First General Meeting, January 30, 2012

Hey DEI members!
Don't forget our first general meeting is this Monday, January 30th, from 8-9 pm in good old Busch Campus Center (BCC) Center Hall, our usual location. We're kicking off the semester with a very fun event; we are having the RU Club "Not Just Yoga" bring in a yoga expert to join us for a night of yoga, relaxation, and meditation. Being a student is an extremely hard job; Learn how to beat the stress at the beginning of the semester! Don't forget pizza and soda!
Just a refresher: to remain an active member for the Spring 2012 semester, you must accumulate 3 points. 2 points per general meeting, and 1 point for each other career services or DEI-related events. Please e-mail me for any questions regarding points!
One last thing: if you have any suggestions for events for this semester (community service, alumni-related, career development orientated, or a social event), please e-mail me! We are always looking for ideas for events for this semester and would love input from our members to make it happen!
Hope to see you all on Monday! Don't forget to 'like' the DEI page on Facebook to keep up to date with events! http://www.facebook.com/RutgersDEI
Final Meeting, December 12, 2011
Hello DEI members!
Our final meeting of the year will be this Monday, December 12th from 8-9 pm in BCC Center Hall. Free pizza! All of you have worked so hard this semester volunteering at and attending community service events, career development events, and alumni events so we thought the best way to close out the semester would be a Social event to get to know (and have fun with!) your fellow DEI members.
The theme of this meeting is currently in the works; I am in communications with an organization at RU to try to do a relaxation/yoga night before finals, but I am not sure if this will completely pan out, so if not, we will do a game night! I will send you another e-mail by tomorrow evening to confirm which event will be taking place.
If you have any games which are appropriate for a large group of people or teams please bring them or bring the idea with you!
Thanks everyone- have a great weekend and Happy Studying! :)
Speed Networking, December 7, 2011
December 2, 2011
Credit :http://www.rutgersalumni.org/article_library.php?ID=141Hello DEI members! The Speed Networking event is this Wednesday, December 7th in Rutgers Student Center from 7-9 pm. This is one of the biggest events that career services organizes, and we would really like to represent DEI at this event. At this time, this will be the last opportunity besides the last general meeting for you to earn points! At this time, I don't have final details of what we will be helping with exactly - but I am pretty sure in general it includes making sure the event runs smoothly.
We will need volunteers from about 5:30 pm until around 9:30 pm that night. You will earn two points for helping out with this event! This is a great opportunity to get involved in the Rutgers community and promote networking, which we all know is crucial in today's job or grad/business/medical school search.
If you are interested, please e-mail me ASAP with your t-shirt size, and I will keep you posted with any additional details!
