University Microfinance Initiative |
||
| Welcome! About
RUMI The
Rutgers University Microfinance Initiative (RUMI) is a student run
organization
established via a social action project sponsored by the Institute for
Women’s
Leadership (IWL). It was established to
raise both awareness about the feminization of global poverty on our
college
campus and funds to provide small denominational loans to third world
women. What
is Microfinance Microfinance
is the supply of financial services
for poor people in developing countries. It includes microcredit or
microloans,
which are small amounts of money lent to poor people to finance
self-employment
activities or for other purposes. Support RUMI and RUTGERS in OxFam America's
