The MSNBC Site Navigation: Elements
The MSNBC site is a more elaborate or "heavy" design. From the home page, you can clearly see this right away. The banner is more colorful than the CNN site. The navigation is more complicated with dropdown menu's that don't always work well. When I viewed the menu's in Safari they were almost unusable because the background color didn't show up, but when I viewed them in Firefox they worked fine.

The MSNBC Site Navigation: Organization
The organization of the MSNBC site is useable but less clear than the CNN Site. The main navigation for the site is located half way down the page on the right and there's so much going on that you could easily lose the navigation menu.
