Who are the sites for?
- MSNBC.com and CNN.com are both news sites. The target audience that these sites aim to attract is pretty much everyone or anyone that wants information. Whether you're looking for a sports score, stock quote, or breaking news story they will have it.
Who are the intended users?
- Intended users of these sites are any one looking for timely information or possibly someone looking up a news story from past times.
What do users want to accomplish?
- Information gathering or research. Most likely these sites are not used for leisure.
What are the skills needed to use the site?
- These sites are fairly easy to use. Standard navigation will get you through most of the sites. The only possible skills needed would be installing a plug in on you computer to watch a video.
Good fit with intended users?
- Since navigation is simple, yes it's a good fit. I say this because the intended users are likely to be a little bit older, and not technically well versed, so simple navigation is important.
Can users instantly understand what the site is about?
- It's very clear, exactly what the intentions are of these sites.
Understand what they can do there? Look and feel that entice's user's to stay?
- The sites are both vey utilitarian. But they have good information and solid navigation, which is enticing.
