When I was in sixth grade, my dad introduced me to html. I remember the good old days of the web where we had to pay five dollars a month to get ten minutes of time on a 32k modem. I made my first web site in 1999 and hosted it on tripod. I updated it once in 2002 and it is now floating around somewhere in cyber space, maybe here
I finally got to take a Web Authoring class a year ago, spring 2007. I originally took it to get ahead on SCILS credits, but they didn't even transfer. And i did not learn anythign in html. The teacher blatantly said the first day that she didn't know anything about html and we would learn coding through the book, yea right.
Just last semester my friend Daizo took this class with Steve Garwood and he showed me his remade model of the webmail. I was shocked to say the least. He told me what a great teacher he had and how he learned html. If someone so helpless in the web as Daizo could learn html and make a decent site, then so could I. Oh and we both have had Graphoc Design and Typography classes, so we should be right where we belong!
