Education
Me enjoying my milk.
Although I was born in Washington, D.C. my family moved to South Jersey before I started kindergarten. I spent K-8 in the Mount Laurel School District at Parkway Elementary School, Hartford Lower Middle School, and Harrington Upper Middle School. I then moved on to the Lenape Regional High School District and attended Lenape High School.
Me on vacation!
After graduating from Lenape in 2004, I went to Rutgers University. After much indecision, I decided to pursue an economics major because it provides a very strong background applicable to numerous fields. I am currently in my senior year and will graduate in May of 2008. I recently decided to double major, adding a public health major. I had been planning a minor in public health, but upon the realization that 3 more classes would change my minor to a major, I decided to go for the major.
I am interning at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in the Budget and Finance Department. The internship combines my economics and public health backgrounds and has been a great experience. I analyze hospital statistics and other data in addition to working on the 2008 hospital budget. I will most likely be continuing the internship in the spring of 2008.

I am an avid traveler and enjoy photographing my adventures. My original digital camera quickly became outdated with its tiny LCD and compact flash storage system. After much research, I purchased a new digital camera this summer and am still amazed by the 3 inch LCD screen. My purchase was quickly upstaged when my one of my brothers bought a digital SLR. After playing around with it though, I've realized it's a little too complicated for me to learn to use at this point.
My father has always been interested in photography, especially macro photography. On weekends, he will walk around the yard photographing bugs and plants in great detail. My brothers, my mom, and I all caught the photography bug from him. Family vacations quickly turn into a competition of who can take the most and the best pictures. My mom is the undefeated champion in quantity- taking over 9,000 pictures on a 21 day trip to Italy.
Another interest of mine is web design. Like my interest in photography, my web interest also comes from my father. Initial experiments with a family web page have evolved into a virtual Christmas card and photo series. My dad gets a great deal of enjoyment out of blackmailing everyone with less than flattering pictures being posted. I created my first web page in 4th grade and instantly felt like the coolest kid ever. I created a "Homework Daily" site at my middle school so that teachers could post homework assignments online each day for students who were absent or simply forgot to write down their homework. Since I left the school, the site has evolved into Homework Direct.
Since then I've been fairly lazy in terms of up keeping my own site although I recently created a Traveling Mindset page that captures images of my daily life and a Surrealism Further Reading Page providing insight into surrealist art. As an additional class assignment, I created a flash ad for my project and although I still find flash ads ridiculously annoying, I have a little more respect for the amount of work that goes into creating them.

| Good | Bad | Ugly |
|---|---|---|
| turtles | birds | squid |
| panda bears | spiders | ant eaters |
Turtles and panda bears are good: they're cute and rare enough to be interesting.
Birds and spiders are bad. My fear of birds stems from a bird pooping on my head early in life. Spiders are simply bad because of their creepy, crawly nature.
Squid and ant eaters are just plain ugly. I've seen squid out snorkeling and the look like huge blobs of goo (not attractive). Ant eaters are ugly simply because their noses are ridiculously huge.

As mentioned above, I have an interest in photography. These are three pictures from a trip to Hawaii in the summer of 2007. This sampling features macro photography with the bee, landscape photography with the mountains, and underwater photography with the turtle.
