The Rutgers University Climate and
Health Research Initiative (CHRI) is a multidisciplinary, multi-departmental
collaboration which combines the expertise of the Center for Discrete
Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science (DIMACS), the Rutgers Center
for Operations Research (RUTCOR), the Department of Industrial and Systems
Engineering, the Center for Remote Sensing and Spatial Analysis (CRSSA), the
Center for Vector Biology, and the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment
Station. CHRI seeks to investigate the effects of extreme weather events on
human health, focusing on studying and minimizing the impact of isolated
extreme climatic events, such as flooding, drought, or extreme heat, on
human health.
